These USB Ports were in bad bad shape they shorted out the USB Power Chip also they shorted out the USB Data Chip. I did a power bypass and Data bypass to get this machine up and running again – the repair went into over time!

This Sony had the center DC Jack ring break and needed a new DC Power Jack Installed.
After the installation the Sony is now charged up to 100%

I also did a Free PC Tune up on this Unit between 2 other Units that I worked on.

Total Cost on this Unit was $60.00 Including a New DC Jack and Labor.

This Toshiba M645-S4070 had a Blue LED Power light the AC Adapter LED
Blinking With No Post – After tracing down the problem it turned out
to be a bad voltage Regulator – and a capacitor that fell on the Motherboard.
I did a by-pass on the Chip and now this Toshiba M645 has a Steady Blue LED Light
and now boots flawlessly! No photos of the repair were taken as it was a busy Monday!

This toshiba l655 Had a cracked center pin on the DC Power Jack
it was replaced with a new one and also the case needed gluing\
as the rear case mount broke, also included in the repair
was a full tune as the toshiba l655 was running a bit slow.

The Ugly was how slow his machine ran after the repair – here is what was done on the tune up below.

1> 70 Windows Vista updates 340 MB worth
2> cleaned & compress disc – 9GB of junk files
3> Removed about 45 programs on start up – this machine was on the hour glass for days..
4> Deep reg clean out
5> Removed Nortan – it was expired and pop ups from hell were coming up.
6> Added Avg 2012
7> Fixed Sound the RealTek Driver was bad on the HD version
8> Defrag the hard disc 2 times
9> Optimized Windows Settings

This Toshiba Was running like a P3 Celeron from 1999

Now it runs like a i3 Laptop from 2012

This Dell would not boot up on screen, just had a black screen – all lights and hard drive were working.
no video on remote VGA so it was time to reflow the Motherboard, after the reflow this Dell Studio is
now working just fine, I also had to glue both bottom sections of the LCD Casing as it was falling apart.
The DC Power Jack was ok in this unit and was charging to 100%

This Sony Had a Bad DC Power Jack, also it had lots of cracks near the power button and lower case.

I replaced the Power Jack with a new one and Fixed the Power button board and lower case at no charge.

This Sony  Netbook is now surfing the net again and holding a 100% Charge.

This is a custom Traktor S4 with a smoked Plexiglass housing and upgraded wood grain kit.
This one of a kind Traktor was in need of a new USB Port as the center plastic part that
holds the data pins snapped off.

Once a gain a Traktor is now plowing the Music.

This Maschine came all the way from the Great White North in Canada!

This Maschine was the upgrade repair with the New Right Angel USB Cord.

3 Point Solder Joint all around the USB Jack for long lasting usage and

preventing USB Port Case Failure, Also the USB Port is glued to the

Maschine Outer Case as well as the System Motherboard.

Here is a gateway the the dc power jack snapped all apart in the nv 59, this dc power jack job went smooth
and now the new jack is installed and the unit is charging 100% and this unit is ready to be shipped out.

This D 620 Had a bad DC Jack and needed a new one after de soldering teh jack and installing the new one
the eMachines D620 is now booting and charging like new again!

This Acer Aspire One D255 Had a Real Loose DC Power Jack, I tested it with my universal power supply and I had to wiggle it to get the LED Light to come on, after replacing the DC Jack I finally found the customers AC Power Adapter that was buried in the wrapping paper from shipping, I plugged in the customers Power Pack and nothing, I did a free temporary fix on the Male Power Adapter, now the unit is running like new again.

Here is another Mail in Sony vaio dc jack repair, this Sony Vaio PCG-7173L had the common end snap off
that happens on all broken Sony vaio laptops, after the repair the Sony received a LCD BUFF and complete
inner and outer compressed air clean out, also the entire case and keyboard were detailed, this is included
in all of my DC Power Jack Repairs. The Sony Looks and Runs like new again.

This will be the Third Motherboard in this Dell 7010 as There has been 2 Issues with the
boot screen error Power Adapter Not Recognized, you can see the error in the photos, also
the HDMI Port had a crack in it and was ready to go at anytime it was nice of Dell to include
that board as well for the replacement, the Dell 7010 is now booting up with no warning screens
and is charging up like a champ. The DC Jack on this Dell checked out just Fine.

This Native Instruments S4 was shipped in with the hard flight case and wow was it heavy a whopping 30 LBS!
This USB Port had the same problem as the last Traktor – the center pin section was ripped out
and thus not making contact with the male USB Cord/ Plug.

This Traktor is now ready for some DJ Work.

The T- Series Red Gateway needed a new DC Power Jack, This one was cracked, a typical break point on the newer
series Gateway DC Jacks. Also this Motherboard had a “SEVERE” short to Ground via the center layer PCB, this was fixed
and the NEW DC POWER jack was hot wired to the PL Fuse.

I have done many of these USB Port repairs and they are now real solid repairs lasting at least 3 times
longer then the factory installed USB Jack and I am working on a new solution for these jacks that fail as well.

This one was mailed in with the DC Power jack missing from the board, the customer tried
to do the repair but was unable to, I had this AVERATEC 3200 up and running in a few hours.
She Runs good as new with her NEW DC Power Jack.

This was my first TRAKTOR KONTROL S4, it uses the same USB Port as the NATIVE INSTRUMENTS MASCHINE.

After the USB Port was removed I replaced it with a new one and did some serious modifications to secure the jack
into place so it would take a bit more abuse then the factory USB installation.

The USB Jack Port is in real solid now as it had 3 Times solder Points and I also added plastic Glue to the Casing.
Also the top Potentiometers / Pots were loose so i had to put some shims on the 2nd motherboard to keep them from wiggling.

This is common on the Acer 6530 as this is a crazy place where Acer decided to put a DC Jack, anytime you put a DC Jack or Power button board on a moving LCD Hinge it is bound to fail sooner or later. I did forget to get a snap of the new DC Power Jack Installed.

I replaced the jack with a new one and also used 2 kinds of glue to mount the new DC Jack to the motherboard, then next I also ran a jumper hot lead from the DC Power jack straight to he fuse-able SMT link on he motherboard so this DC Power Jack repair should last a real long time!

After a good cleaning this laptop looks and runs like a new unit considering it’s age.

Here is another Maschine USB Power Port Repair!
This one is rock solid – I added extra solder
all around the USB Port plus glued it to the case
and motherboard!

This was the latest Maschine USB Port Repair – The New USB Jack has been reinforced with 5 extra solder points
and a bead of plastic glue holding the new USB DC – Data Jack to the motherboard and casing.

The HP Was tested 48 hours running full screen video.

This Gateway had a DC Jack that was forced into being cracked and the mounting case was also cracked and this DC Jack had to be glued into the case with some plastic hot melt glue for reinforcement, after the repair was made the NV 53 A Booted up again like new and no more loose as a goose DC Jack.

This MSI was a fun project, after the DC Jack was installed there was no post to the LED Screen – after some time I figured to use the external VGA jack and themachine worked fine – the LED Screen had a bad logic board but The LED back lighting was still working giving it a blue – turquoise color when it had gone through the boot cycle thus fooling one to believe the motherboard was at fault, but this was not the case.

I ran the unit for 8 solid hours with no glitches just to make sure all was well as the customer said it work fine before the DC Jack was damaged.

This was a mail in repair, after fixing the 2 bad USB ports – This motherboard is built by Acer so I was familiar with this repair.

After repairing the 2 USB Ports I inspected the DC Jack and noticed it was cracked in half as all of the Acer’s do after a period of time and while I had the board handy I contacted the customer and he said go ahead and Replace the DC Jack as I gave him A 45% Discount as I had the motherboard out and ready to fix anything that needed fixing.

Also the 725 had a lot of corrosion on the bottom panel and I had to do some extensive cleaning – the fan heat sink fins were clogged @ 80% and I had to use a wire brush on them as it was so bad.

After all the repairs the e725 now boots up and runs like new and both USB Ports both work perfect like when it was first unboxed.

This customer brought in this HP DV 9000 with a problem of the unit shutting on and off every 3 seconds, so I disassembled the unit, re-flowed the nvidia graphics chip on the motherboard and added a sandwich of 2 copper shims with a dual layer of thermal heat sink grease.

After this procedure the unit is up and running again, the fan was also really clogged up with dust and hair that probably was part of the nvidia graphics chip overheating and not making contact with the motherboard, the entire laptop was blown out so no dust is present.

The DC Power Jack was fine after inspection of all parts inside the HP DV 9000 and no other problems were found.

All is well now in the world of “Maschine”

Also I finally downloaded the PC Driver to run the Native Instruments Maschine so I can test the units before shipping, I want to thank Forum User “procrastinator” for giving me the download link for the drivers.

Here is a DC Jack replacement on a i7 G53 Gaming Laptop, this was a fun replacement DC Jack Repair!

This TOSHIBA SATELLITE L305D S5934 had a dead power DC Jack, the power adapter metered out fine at 19.2 volts.
After this one was soldered in the Laptop booted right up just like new, this TOSHIBA is now running like a champ!

This Gateway Had more then a Bad DC Jack as the customer had tried to pull off the top palm rest cover to
get to the DC Jack out of frustration on not getting the power on , The DC Jack had to be Epoxied in place
as well as the top palm rest due to the customers damage to the unit, now it works great and the DC Jack
is installed solid as a rock

The Fan also needed a good cleaning as well as the keyboard.

This Gateway had a burned out center pin that was broken away from the DC Jack and Motherboard, Also I blew out about a 1/2 Pound of dust in the fan and motherboard – keyboard.

With the new DC Jack in and a clean computer this gatewa runs like new again, The LCD and Keyboard were also cleaned up.

Another Gateway DC POWER JACK REPAIR. this one had tons of dust in it as well as some string in the fan.
It was completely blown out and I removed the old yellow DC Jack as the center pin was broken from the motherboard.

This G70 HP Had a real loose DC Jack, inside the case was broken
near the DC Power Jack Area, I had to fiberglass over the NEW
DC Jack to hold it into the bottom base case of the HP G70.

Now The DC Jack is in real Tight and the G 70 POWER PORT is working perfect!

This is a top of the line laptop from Dell, this LCD Screen had a 2 inch ghosting flicker at the bottom of the screen and was really annoying the customer, he had to keep holding it with his hand to use the Dell and finally said it is time for a new one.

This one was tougher then the last 5 Native Instruments Maschine repairs as someone had did a “False Repair” Prior to me working on it, when the case was removed it was as real eye opener as I have never seen anything like it from all past Native Instruments Maschine repairs, their was all this blue glue/paint holding down the USB DC Power Jack, all the Pins were destroyed also the back case was scratched up, after the repair was completed it turns out my customer Matt had told me it was returned from an E-Bay sale Online and that the customer did not want the Native Instruments Maschine and wanted a refund, from my past EBay sales in my professional opinion the ebay buyer did a switch out of the main motherboard to make his own Native Instruments Maschine work instead of getting it repaired. There was even a screw missing under the factory sticker and that one was covered up with another sticker called “Electrical” that is not even a sticker for the Maschine.

Note: if you are selling Electronics please mark your units
with an engraver inside and out for your own protection.

Update!! this Compaq came back on warranty as the customer said it kept shutting off, turns out he has an AFTER MARKET POWER adapter that was getting hot and shutting off, it say’s on the side “replacement adapter” made in china, I plugged in my 5 amp power pack and the CQ60 has not shut off once and charged up the battery twice as fast!

Make sure you always buy the correct AC Power Adapter when replacing one!
as the amperage was to low and the power pack over heated.

Just another Dell 9 Pin DC Jack repair, same as the last 3, DE-Solder the old jack replace with a new one. this is a straight forward dc jack repair.

This customer had it back less the an hour and a half he was on his way home, this also included a full laptop clean out and LCD Screen Clean.

This Dell has the 9 pin Octagonal DC Jack Port, this one was so bad you could see right through it, the Laptop was blow out on the Entire Circuit board and fan area as well as the Keyboard those keyboards harbor plenty of things you would find in a vacuum cleaner bag. I also cleaned the entire unit and LCD screen and fix the customers cracked hinge area on the plastic LCD screen cover with sold plastic weld glue.

This Dell 1545 is again charging up and running like new!

Now with the V6000 Running the customer wanted a fresh install of windows 7 Ultimate, as the Vista was running like she always does. This unit runs like new again and the repair bill saved the customer $100′s of dollars in not buying a new laptop.

This Toshiba Tecra M3 has a new DC Jack installed, the bad thing on this one is that the Motherboard was bad, I only got a flashing light from the front laptop panel LED ] bad Motherboard.
there was only a Min charge on this unit.

Another Toshiba Satellite DC Jack Replacement, this Jack was ripped out from the Laptop case and needed to be glued in with 2 posts and quick weld plastic glue, no this DC Jack will never come loose again!

This Toshiba Satellite Needed a DC Jack Repair, the DC Jack was pushed in and broken away from the case, the main Black Ground Wire Power Lead was broken from the DC Jack so it needed replacing.

This customer had brought over 2 of these units, one the motherboard was already removed from the unit and the other one needed the full job, after DE-Soldering and installing the new Dell 9 Pin DC Jack I cleaned out the board added new heat sink grease to the CPU and Video Chip and Fired up the Dell, she ran real good and charged up like new.

This Sony has a cracked DC Power Jack, the unit was disassembled, the fan and entire circuit board was blown out with compressed air and the new DC Jack was installed.

Here is another Gateway with a bad DC Motherboard, the Center Layer on the board was dead and needed to be hot-wired to the DC Jack to Motherboard, very common on these MA Series Laptops. This one turned out the same as the other 26 Gateway MA Hotwires, boots up and charges, this unit will need a new battery soon as it charges up real slow.

This Dell is an older unit that had the DC Jack Crushed, Also this Dell has a bad power chip that controlled the USB Ports, also the customers child spilled a large glass of juice into the unit that made the LCD Screen haze, not to mention the final step after booting the OS was to see why the keyboard only worked 75% of the keys and Juice also was introduced to the keyboard, the Keyboard and female socket were full of dried up juice and made it hard for the keyboard ribbon cable to work, after some heavy duty cleaning all the keys now work!

Here is another Gateway with a bad DC Motherboard, the Center Layer on the board was dead and needed to be hot-wired to the DC Jack to Motherboard, very common on these MA Series Laptops. This one turned out the same as the other 25 Gateway MA Hotwires, boots up and charges fine.

This Dell was shipped in from Pennsylvania to have the DC Jack replaced as all the local PC Shops wanted $125.00 + Parts to fix the Unit, This Dell is just like new again with a New Factory Dell Octagon DC Jack, The LCD display was cleaned and the Fan was blown out as well, Also some new Heat sink grease was added to the Main and Video Processors. Also a basic PC Tune up was included to make this Dell run like new again.

This motherboard was sent to be repaired as it had a short in the center layer of the board, sparking and smoke was coming out of it, the board had a route canal and now there is + 19 Volts power to the board with no shorting, the DC Jack had to be hot-wired to the main fuse to get it working again.

Just anther Dell 9 Pin Power Jack Repair – Disassemble – De Solder – Re-solder the Dell Power Jack.

Another Acer DC Jack Job, these Acer DC Jacks do go bad as there is a lot of wear and tear on the jack area as the top case get’s opened and closed a lot puts stress on the jack and the wire leads on the unit, almost all of these will need replacing sooner or later.

This customer was really upset as he took his HP to a major pc center and they told him it would be $295.00 to replace his motherboard, he got so upset he ripped the unit apart, this is how I received the unit, he broke the power button board trying to get at the DC Jack, I did the repair, New DC Jack and power button board, the entire repair even after he broke his power button circuit board only cost $110.00 including parts! He still saved over 50%!! And he was a happy camper to say the least!

This Native Instruments Maschine had a a burned out USB Power Port and uptesting the USB Cord when you wiggle it the power would come in and out so this one needed repalceing, also it was spiking to a nearby component L2 and did a nice job on the circuit board after pulling out the USB Jack you could see the burnt spots inside the Jack, after the NEW USB port was soldered in all is fine again in the world of The Maschine!

This Acer had a bad DC Jack and needed to be removed and replaced as the center pin was destroyed the Customer lost the end cap so I had to fabricate a new one to make it look stock.

This had a original DC Jack where the center pin de soldered from the board.
Now it has a Brand New DC Jack installed with new heatsink grease on the processor
as well as a good blow out of the fan area and PC Board

This DC Jack was replaced as the owner says it cut in and out of power randomly.
It now has a Brand New DC Jack and will be tested further as it boots up perfect
with no battery in the bay slot after the DC Jack Repair.

I love these Gateway Laptops, this one has a slim profile and came apart pretty smoothly!
As this was my first m 275 to work on it took a while how to power up the unit after the DC Jack
was replaced, the Power Switch is on the left hand side of the Laptop base, it is a slider type switch.
